Bringing Sexy back!

:Ungaro's short hemlines
Rodarte's bondage dress:

There is only one word that can be used to describe this season's most popular trends- and that word is SEXY! Seriously, with the short hemlines being featured from Emmanuel Ungaro and Marc Jacobs, mouths will be watering from every man, woman and child (hey children have testoterone too!) but seriously, the bondage looks featured on the Rodarte runway, (and inspired by 1936 Frankenstein!) recall a retro sexuality that hasn't been seen in fashion since the 1960's crop top and the height of Brigitte Bardot's career. These days we are far more used to seeing models who look about as sexy as a six year old boy, with their pale skin and lack of curves, and clothing trends that urge the baggy and make up that is so caked on and contrived that it might remind you of the thick blue eye shadow that your grandmother wore to Christmas dinner every year. Thank God it looks like fashion is making a return to old school sensuality. Gisele Bunschen and Daria Werbowy are the new it girls of 2010, with their healthy athletic curves and golden brown skin, and it seems that as far as make up goes, au naturelle is the new heavy. And thank god, according to Derek (Lam that is) and Louis Vuitton (courtesy of a change of heart from Marc Jacobs!), tight is right and skin is in. Come now, we have been hiding under our chunky sweaters and boyfriend jeans for too long now, and Courtney Love's career didn't even stand up to half of Brigitte Bardot's, so as far as my summer goes, i'm stowing away the bronzer in lieu of a natural tan, and if you wish to find me, I can be caught laying out in my backyard in my tiny lime green and pink plaid string bikini (burberry or Target depending on your price range) and then slipping into a pair of paper thin, yet punishingly tight, layered silk short shorts and working my feminine curves (and my feminine wiles), after all neither men nor women like to see a lady looking like a little boy, if all human beings were men then there wouldn't be any human beings left. Therefore take it from the arbitrers of fashion, be proud to be a girl, Kate and Laura Muleavy sure are!
